Аннотация
Solitary fibrous tumor of the pleura is a rare mesenchymal tumor that is typically benign and treated with resection. We describe a 66-year-old woman who presented with a symptomatic 28-cm right-sided pleural chest mass, suggestive of a solitary fibrous tumor of the pleura. Initial resection was completed through clamshell thoracotomy with central venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation; however, surveillance imaging 10 months after initial resection showed a rapidly expanding solid mass concerning for recurrence. This was resected en bloc with the chest wall through thoracotomy with peripheral venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. We discuss both operative and perioperative considerations of both cases.
