[The defect of the breast managed by subaxillary flap after breast cancer removal].

The treatment of early breast cancer by breast conserving therapy should ensure the local control and accebtable cosmetic result. To repair the defect caused by the partial mastectomy in upper inner quadrant various methods of plastic reconstruction should be used. Eight patients underwent breast conserving therapy due to cancer in upper inner quadrant. The subaxillary flap was used for the reconstruction of the defect with good cosmetic effect. The best oncological and cosmetic result is achieved by breast surgeon, competent in oncology and plastic surgery, or by multidisciplinary approach.
