INTRODUCTION AND

IMPORTANCE

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) are clinically diagnosed as benign vascular tumors, seen as small red colored growths on exposed surfaces. They occur commonly in skin and mucus membranes and occasionally in subcutaneous tissues. Pyogenic granulomas can arise at the sites of injury or within a vascular malformation or even occurring spontaneously.

CASE PRESENTATION: Author is reporting here a case palmar pyogenic granuloma in a child, which was hindering her day-to-day activities with associated bleeding on touch. Its unique and novel way of management has been described here.

CLINICAL DISCUSSION: PGs have reddish minced meat like appearance, which bleeds on touch or on trivial injury, mimicking like, a arteriovenous malformations or vascular tumor.

CONCLUSION

Various treatment modalities have been described with varied results in the literature; however, surgical excision is the most definitive. The defect left after surgical excision is a different challenge altogether. Such rare experience has been discussed here.
