Аннотация
The medaka retinal stem cell niche, a model for lifelong neurogenic growth, serves as an excellent system for studying immune-stem cell interactions. In their work, Joachim Wittbrodt and colleagues reveal an important role for microglia in regulating retinal stem cells and tissue growth during development. To learn more about their work, we talked to the first authors, Rashi Agarwal and Joergen Benjaminsen, and the corresponding author, Joachim (Jochen) Wittbrodt, Principal Investigator of Developmental Biology/Physiology at the Centre for Organismal Studies, Heidelberg University, Germany.
