Limited Joint Mobility Syndrome Mimicking Rheumatoid Arthritis in a Patient with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Case Report.
Аннотация
Limited joint mobility syndrome (LJMS) is a diabetic hand disorder that may exhibit features resembling rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A 72-year-old man with long-standing type 2 diabetes mellitus presented with bilateral finger swelling, pain, and limited range of motion and was initially treated for RA without any clinical improvement. Upon referral, physical examination revealed positive prayer and tabletop signs, and ultrasonography showed diffuse subcutaneous soft tissue swelling without synovial hypertrophy or power Doppler signals. The symptoms rapidly improved after intensifying the glycemic control. Diabetic cheiroarthropathy/LJMS should be considered in patients with diabetes presenting with RA-like hand manifestations.
