Radiofrequency and Cryoneurolysis in Pain Management: Development, Technique, and Application.

This narrative review aims to provide an overview of the historical development, current techniques, applications, and existing evidence for radiofrequency and cryoneurolysis in pain management. While research is ongoing, evidence suggests their effectiveness in treating conditions like postmastectomy pain, phantom limb pain, radicular pain, and trigeminal neuralgia. However, their adoption in clinical guidelines varies, and they carry potential risks. Healthcare professionals should carefully consider the benefits, risks, and current evidence base when making treatment decisions.
