Gastric varices can pose both diagnostic challenges and serious risk of life-threatening hemorrhage in patients with cirrhotic and noncirrhotic portal hypertension. Management requires a multidisciplinary approach, with gastroenterology playing a key role in diagnosis, endoscopic assessment, and initial treatment strategies.
