Epidemics on glass paintings.

Clinical Dermatology and Fine Arts share a mutual interest in detailed observations. Although there are several contributions about skin diseases in paintings, communications about skin disease and painted glass are sparse. Glass is a complex material with the refinement of colors being limited when compared with oil paintings. Glass paintings are limited to two surfaces, where the paint dries quickly in contrast to canvas or wood. We discuss several examples of medieval and contemporary art. Major themes in medieval times were the plague and leprosy, whereas more recently, contemporary artists have often selected such pandemic diseases as COVID-19 for their subjects.
