This article provides a comprehensive review of the progress in the application of transoral robotic surgery（TORS） in the field of head and neck surgery. It elaborates on its developmental background and technical principles as a subset of natural orifice endoscopic surgery and highlights the technical characteristics and optimization trends of both general-purpose and specialized surgical robotic platforms.
