Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 - a case report.
Аннотация
UNLABELLED: Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 is a rare hereditary disease with an autosomal dominant type of inheritance characterized by high penetrance and the presence of hyperplasia and neoplasia in at least two different endocrine organs. The most often synchronously or consistently developing tumors are in the thyroid glands, the gastrointestinal tract and the adenohypophysis.
A CASE STUDY: A patient 41-year-old with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 was treated with radiolabeled somatostatin analogues as a new promising treatment for patients with inoperable or metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. The disease started with persistently recurrent prolactinoma, which was characterized by resistance not only to therapeutic but also to surgical treatment. Diagnostics methods used in this case were: laboratory - determination of the concentration of prolactin, vasoactive intestinal peptide, calcitonin, vitamin D3 (25-OH) D, parathormone, calcium, aldosterone, and ultrasound, CT, PET/CT.
CONCLUSIONS
Treatment with radiolabeled somatostatin analogues is a new promising treatment for patients with inoperable or metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. The difficulty of diagnosis of patients with combined pathology is that by fixing on one disease, you can miss the beginning of the other diseases. In this particular case, by concentrating on a tumor of the pancreas, it was possible to omit the recurrence of prolactinoma.
