Assessment of Load in Replacement of Bilateral Edentulous Mandibular Posteriors by Precision Attachments: A Clinical Study.
Аннотация
PURPOSE: To evaluate the distribution of occlusal load and functional outcomes in patients receiving precision attachments for the replacement of bilateral edentulous mandibular posteriors.
MATERIALS AND
METHODS
A clinical study was conducted involving 30 participants with bilateral edentulous mandibular posteriors. Custom precision attachments were fabricated and assessed for their load distribution using a pressure-mapping system. Functional outcomes, including patient satisfaction and masticatory efficiency, were measured using validated questionnaires and clinical tests.
RESULTS
Precision attachments demonstrated uniform load distribution across the prosthesis, reducing stress on residual ridges. High levels of patient satisfaction and significant improvement in masticatory efficiency were observed. Statistical analysis showed a correlation between load distribution and patient-reported outcomes (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION
Precision attachments provide an effective solution for load distribution in bilateral edentulous mandibular posteriors, improving function and comfort for patients.
