Аннотация
CASE: A 21-year-old woman with a history of bilateral developmental dysplasia of the hips (DDH), congenital hip dislocation, and hypermobility syndrome presented with severe bilateral external snapping hips. Following the failure of nonoperative management, bilateral open iliotibial band fasciectomy performed 5 months apart provided significant relief from both the active and passive snapping, as well as complete pain relief at the 12-month follow-up.
CONCLUSION: This case illustrates a preliminary successful operative outcome for severe external snapping hip in a patient with a history of DDH and joint hypermobility while addressing the challenges encountered in treating this rare presentation.
