The editors note that the PNAS Editorial and Journal Policies stipulate that authors must provide sufficient information to establish the identity of a new compound and its purity, must include sufficient experimental details to allow other researchers to reproduce the synthesis, and must include characterization data and experimental details either in the text or in the SI Appendix . The authors did not include characterization data of the chemical compound PIPE-307 described in the referenced paper. A global license and development agreement has prevented the inclusion of the chemical structure of PIPE-307 in the paper.
