Аннотация

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Panax notoginseng (Burkill) F.H.Chen, a traditional herb from the Araliaceae family, has been used to promote blood circulation, resolve stasis, and relieve pain. Long employed in cardiovascular disease management, it demonstrates significant potential for preventing and treating pulmonary hypertension (PH).

AIM OF THE STUDY: This review aims to elucidate the mechanisms of Panax notoginseng against PH through its multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway characteristics, providing a theoretical basis for its clinical application and drug development.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: Network pharmacology analysis identified potential targets of Panax notoginseng for the treatment of PH. Molecular docking was performed using AutoDock to predict binding affinity between active components and core targets. Literature evidence was supplemented through searches in the CNKI and PubMed databases.

RESULTS: The literature indicates that Panax notoginseng, as a herb known for activating blood circulation and resolving stasis, exhibits a wide range of pharmacological activities. Molecular docking analyses between the active components of Panax notoginseng and the core targets identified via PH network pharmacology-namely AKT1, TNF, and IL6-demonstrate strong binding affinity. Further literature evidence supports the involvement of several signaling pathways in the intervention of PH, including Notch3, MAPK, SIRT1/FOXO3a/p27, and NLRP3/Caspase-1/GSDMD.

CONCLUSIONS: Panax notoginseng exerts therapeutic effects in a broad range of diseases and modulates PH through multi-target and multi-pathway mechanisms. While these bioinformatics-based predictions require rigorous experimental validation, they provide a solid foundation for guiding future research.
