[Morphological analysis of the innervation zones in frontal-zygomatic-orbital-maxillary surgery on unfixed frozen anatomical material].
Аннотация
OBJECTIVE
To study the features of the innervation zones in frontal-zygomatic-orbital-maxillary surgery.
MATERIAL AND
METHODS
The study included 15 specimens: male specimens 33.3% (n=5) and female specimens 66.7% (n=10). A total of 30 sides were examined. Age of specimens ranged from 60 to 89 years (median 74.00). Facial index and state of dental arches were estimated. Layer-by-layer dissection and measurement of anatomical structures in frontal-zygomatic-orbital-maxillary region were performed on each side for subsequent statistical analysis and comparison of data.
RESULTS
We identified the following structures: supraorbital foramen/notch with measurement of distance to superior orbital margin and nasion; zygomaticotemporal foramen with measurement of distance to zygomatic-frontal suture, zygomatic-sphenoid suture and horizontal distance to lateral edge of zygomatic bone; zygomaticofacial foramen with measurement of distance to zygomatic-frontal suture and lateral orbital edge; infraorbital foramen with measurement of distance to inferior orbital margin and nasion.
CONCLUSION
A detailed description of the aforementioned structures contributes to optimal surgical techniques when placing and fixing the grafts, implants (including titanium plates) or endoprostheses in patients with pathology of the upper and middle facial skull. This minimizes complication rate and improves quality and safety of surgical interventions.
