[The role of exercise therapy in the comprehensive care of patients with rheumatoid arthritis].

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, autoimmune inflammatory joint disease. The disease is often progressive and can lead to damage to joint structures, limited mobility, reduced work capacity, and deterioration in life quality. It places a significant burden on both individuals and healthcare systems. The complex treatment of rheumatoid arthritis includes both pharmacological and non-pharmacological elements. The role of exercise therapy as a non-pharmacological intervention is receiving increasing attention, especially in terms of improving functional status, pain relief, and quality of life, making it an essential part of the treatment of the disease. The aim of this review is to evaluate the impact of exercise therapy on the quality of life of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, with particular attention to physical function, psychological well-being, and the digital and occupational therapy options of exercise therapy. Based on reviewed evidence, personalized physiotherapy is a safe additional treatment in rheumatoid arthritis, as it improves functionality and life quality, helps to lessen fatigue and contributes to the reduction of inflammation. In addition to physiotherapy, regular and properly designed physical activity has a proven positive effect on the cardiovascular system.
