[Penile erection implants : a new era in the management of patients].

Penile erection implants (PEIs) have been known for many years and are an integral part of the management of patients suffering, for example, from erectile dysfunction that is resistant to conservative treatments. However, penile prosthesis implantation was not covered by insurance in Switzerland, often leaving patients without therapeutic solutions when conservative or topical treatments failed. As of July 1, 2025, the implantation of a PEI is now reimbursed for erectile dysfunction, priapism, and Peyronie's disease, marking the beginning of a new era in the management of these patients in Switzerland.
