[The versatile role of GPER in metabolic homeostasis and disease].
Аннотация
The G protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER), as a recently identified novel estrogen receptor, plays a vital role in various physiological and pathological processes. Emerging researches, including studies from our group, have shown that GPER regulates the metabolism of glucose, amino acids, lipids, and other nutrients. It is a key player in the pathophysiology of metabolic disorders, making it a promising therapeutic target for conditions like obesity, type 2 diabetes (T2D), metabolic syndrome, and tumors. This review summarizes GPER's role in normal metabolic processes and the mechanisms in metabolic diseases, highlighting its potential as a novel clinical therapeutic target.
