Challenges and management of risk factors for early onset preeclampsia by health workers in Banyumas Regency: a qualitative study.
Аннотация
OBJECTIVES
This study aims to investigate the challenges and management of health workers in managing risk factors for early-onset preeclampsia.
STUDY
DESIGN
A qualitative cross-sectional study was conducted on health workers in Banyumas Regency related to pregnancy management.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Data collection was carried out through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews.
RESULTS
After data collection, we established two themes, namely 1) challenges faced by health workers and 2) the management carried out by health workers in efforts to manage risk factors for early-onset preeclampsia. The challenges faced by health workers include maternal age, pregnancy spacing, previous obstetric history, previous medical history, health status before pregnancy, and psychological status before pregnancy. Management carried out before pregnancy includes pregnancy planning, monitoring food intake, providing therapy, weight loss in obesity before pregnancy, and referral to a specialist doctor. Management carried out during pregnancy includes managing previous history, managing obesity, and psychological assistance.
CONCLUSIONS
It was concluded that health workers accept the challenges and strive to manage risk factors for preeclampsia before and during pregnancy.
