Fatal overdose of antihypertensive and antidiabetic medications: A case report and a brief review of the literature.
Аннотация
Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) and hypoglycaemic medications are widely prescribed for the management of hypertension and diabetes. However, their overdose, either accidental or intentional, can lead to morbidity and mortality. This report details a case of combined ingestion of antihypertensive and antidiabetic medication overdose in a 36-year-old male, leading to a fatal outcome. The postmortem biochemical and toxicological analysis, along with histopathological findings, provided key insights into the fatal outcome, highlighting the forensic and toxicological significance of such overdoses.
