Аннотация
Candidamia is the most common invasive fungal infection in France. It arises mainly during hospitalization, though community-onset cases can occur. Sepsis is the main clinical presentation. Some rare cases may exhibit signs of secondary septic localizations (endophthalmitis, endocarditis). The diagnosis should be suspected in the presence of risk factors such as immunosuppression, vascular catheters, recent abdominal surgery or antibiotics targeting anaerobic bacteria or with high biliary elimination. It is confirmed from the first positive blood culture. Treatment is based on echinocandins as well as fluconazole in certain specific situations. Global lethality remains high. Preventive measures include limiting the use and duration of vascular catheters and antibiotics.
