Аннотация
BACKGROUND: Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans is a small, gram-negative, non-motile, coccobacillus. Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans is known to cause periodontal disease and to be associated with actinomycosis.
CASE REPORT: We report a patient developed a chronic wound following trauma about the right heel. The lesion resolved after oral antibiotic therapy with cefpodoxime und surgical debridement. Bacterial cultures grew abundant Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, but no actinomyces species.
OBJECTIVE: The importance of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans in chronic wounds needs to be explored.
