[Use of synthetic materials for plasty of postoperative incisional hernias in interventions on the "open" colon].

Single-stage plasty of ventral hernias was performed in 40 patients with the use of synthetic materials and closure of colostomy (in 35 of them), resection of the sigmoid gut (in 3) or anterior resection of the rectum (in 2). Postoperative complications in the wound of the abdominal wall were found in 7 patients.There were no recurrences in the long-term (within 3-34 months) periods. Such single-stage interventions are thought to be possible.
