Аннотация
Spinal anesthesia was first introduced in 1885 by James Leonard Corning, who successfully injected cocaine between the spinous processes of the lower lumbar vertebrae. One of the earliest reports on the use of spinal anesthesia in urology was in 1910 by S.P. Delaup. Since then, spinal anesthesia has developed significantly, from the anesthetic agents used to the delivery mechanism. This review explores the history of spinal anesthesia development and its historical use in urological procedures.
