[Intermaxillary immobilization using ring-screws in adults].

We have been unsatisfied with the mandibular ligatures (binding) using Ivy type steel dental wire alone or with arch bars. The principal risks are: instability of ligature in patients with missing teeth AIDS, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C infections periodental lesions We propose the use of anterior titanium implant screws or the monocortical "piton" which have been used up till now in maxillofacial bone reconstruction.
