Claims that maternal immunity developing before conception protects the fetus from congenital toxoplasmosis have been questioned by doctors reporting a case in France. Toxoplasmosis gondii organisms shown in a section of liver tissue. Cats are the definitive host but infection can also occur through undercooked meat.
