Near Ambient Conditioned Urea Synthesis Using Hydrogen Peroxide.
Аннотация
Herein, we report a mild thermal assisted process for urea synthesis through a one-pot tandem process using sodium nitrate (NaNO3) and carbon dioxide (CO2) in the presence of iron filings (f-Fe) and hydrogen peroxide at ∼150 °C and ∼10 bar CO2 pressure. The urea formed was qualitatively and quantitatively (∼2.3 mM) analyzed using the diacetyl monoxime (DAMO) test and confirmed by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis. A plausible mechanism for the urea synthesis was proposed based on several batch experiments, including control, identifying the intermediate, and radical trapping experiments.
