BACKGROUND: Prominent clavicles are an increasingly requested aesthetic goal in East Asian patients. Poly‑d,l‑lactic acid (PDLLA) is a collagen‑stimulating injectable, but clinical data for clavicular augmentation remain limited.
METHODS: In this prospective, single‑arm case series, 44 East Asian women underwent bilateral clavicular augmentation with PDLLA (Juvelook GLAM, VAIM Inc., Korea) delivered via blunt cannula in the subcutaneous plane. Outcomes included adverse events, Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale ratings from standardized photographs, a 5‑point satisfaction scale, and objective projection change measured with 3‑dimensional imaging at 3 and 6 months.
RESULTS: No major complications were observed through 6 months. Transient bruising (19.4%) and swelling (25.8%) resolved spontaneously. Mean clavicular projection increased by +1.8 ± 0.6 mm at 3 months and +1.6 ± 0.5 mm at 6 months (P < 0.05). At 6 months, 90.3% of patients reported being satisfied or very satisfied.
CONCLUSIONS: In this uncontrolled early‑outcomes series, PDLLA clavicular augmentation was feasible and was associated with high short‑term satisfaction and a modest but measurable increase in projection. Larger controlled studies with longer follow‑up and validated patient‑reported outcome measures are needed to confirm clinical meaningfulness, durability, and rare or late‑onset adverse events.
