Using progressively refined methodology, this study estimated the number and cost of incident antimicrobial-resistant gonococcal infections during 2018-2023. An estimated 787,000 incident antimicrobial-resistant gonococcal infections in persons aged 15 to 39 years occurred in 2023, with lifetime costs of $214.5M and 80% of costs attributable to infections in women.
