Early surgical treatment of pectoralis major tendon rupture: a case report.
Аннотация
ABSTRACT: Pectoralis major rupture is a relatively uncommon injury. It is often under- or misdiagnosed due to late presentation and the lack of obvious clinical signs. Timely diagnosis and treatment is crucial, as early surgical repair has been shown to improve functional and cosmetic outcomes. We report the case of a young patient who underwent surgical repair of a right pectoralis major rupture sustained during a fall while wakeboarding. At the one-year follow-up, he had achieved full range of right shoulder motion and returned to his previous level of sporting activities.
KEY WORDS: Pectoralis major, anterior axillary fold, suture anchor.
