Effect of Exercise Regimen on Stress Urinary Incontinence among Admitted Patients in Selected Hospital.
Аннотация
BACKGROUND
Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) impacts hospitalized patients' quality of life, causing physical and psychological distress. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a structured exercise regimen in reducing SUI symptoms.
OBJECTIVES
To assess the impact of a structured exercise program on SUI severity in hospitalized patients.
METHODS
A quasi-experimental study was conducted with 60 patients randomly assigned to a study group (n=30) receiving a six-week pelvic floor exercise program or a control group (n=30) receiving standard care. SUI severity was measured using the Incontinence Severity Index (ISI) pre- and post-intervention.
RESULTS
The study group showed a significant reduction in SUI severity compared to the control group, reflected in lower ISI scores post-intervention.
CONCLUSION
A structured exercise regimen effectively reduced SUI severity in hospitalized patients, supporting its role as a non-invasive management approach.
