Аннотация

Condyloma acuminata is a surface epithelial lesion caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection that usually affects the anogenital region. Rarely has it been found to affect the urinary tract, and its peculiarity explains why there are only a handful of cases described in literature. Bladder involvement can produce a myriad of symptoms including hematuria, urinary obstruction, nocturia, pain, frequency, and urgency. Majority of the cases reported in literature presented with overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms which include the presence of urgency, usually accompanied by frequency and nocturia, but less commonly with urge urinary incontinence. We report a case of condyloma acuminatum of the bladder presenting with irritative lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and urge incontinence. Cystourethroscopy and tissue biopsy revealed findings consistent with condyloma acuminatum. She was given medical management with an oral immunomodulator and antimuscarinics. The importance of counseling on safe sexual practices, vaccination and monitoring for recurrence of LUTS should be stressed during follow-up consults.
