Аннотация

Surgical suturing remains largely ineffective for severe trauma with uncontrolled bleeding, primarily due to the technical challenges of emergency wound closure and the high risk of postoperative infection. Although medicinal and edible homologous herbs hold promise for diverse wound repair applications, their clinical outcomes have thus far been suboptimal. In this study, we developed an SH@GA hydrogel composed of charred Schizonepetae Herba-derived carbon dots (SH-CDs) and glycyrrhizic acid (GA), grounded in the concept of medicinal and edible homology, with the aim of accelerating oral and skin tissue regeneration. Following lyophilization, the SH@GA powder was fabricated with self-gelling capacity. Notably, this powder retained good injectability, adhesiveness, and mechanical properties even after repeated lyophilization-hydration cycles. Upon contact with blood, the powder rapidly transformed into a gel state and demonstrated effective hemostasis in both rat liver hemorrhage and tail amputation models. Furthermore, the SH@GA powder promoted granulation tissue formation, neovascularization, collagen deposition, and re-epithelialization through modulation of the inflammatory microenvironment, thereby exhibiting remarkable reparative efficacy in full-thickness skin and oral defect models in vivo. This study presents an innovative co-assembly strategy for constructing hydrogels from natural small molecules and carbon dots, offering a promising self-gelling powder-based therapeutic option for sutureless tissue regeneration.
