Ivabradine is a selective heart rate-reducing agent, with an expanding role in the treatment of arrhythmias. In this review article, existing evidence for the utility of this drug as an antiarrhythmic agent will be discussed. Given that much of the recent clinical experience with ivabradine as an antiarrhythmic has been in the pediatric population, the section on clinical uses presents primarily pediatric data; however, relevant adult studies are also presented, as well as potential avenues for future investigation.
