Аннотация
Tick-borne infections are a growing public health concern in North America. Geographic areas of tick populations are expanding and may be impacted by climate change, animal migration, urbanization, or deforestation. Tick-borne infections are challenging to diagnose due to their nonspecific symptoms and many people do not recall a specific tick bite. The true incidence of tick-borne infections is unknown as there are asymptomatic patients and case identification and reporting requirements vary geographically. Early identification and treatment is critical for recovery and, in some cases, prevention of death or long-term complications.
