Аннотация
• Large isolated ventricular septal defect resulting from blunt trauma can be associated with high morbidity and mortality. • High index of suspicion and rapid diagnosis with echocardiography are needed for proper management of isolated ventricular septal defect following blunt trauma. • Surgical patch repair or percutaneous VSD closure, when appropriate, are the mainstay of interventions to avoid late morbidity and mortality associated with large unrepaired VSD.
