H2S: A Simple Molecule with Multifaceted Biochemistry and Functions.

Over the past three decades, the perception of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in living organisms has changed drastically. From being considered a toxic molecule, H2S is now considered a multifunctional signaling molecule that is involved directly or indirectly in a myriad of physiological processes in animal and plant cells but also in the mechanism of responses against adverse or pathological situations that usually have associated cellular oxidative stress.
