INTRODUCTION: Humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy is an important cause of hypercalcemia associated with malignancies and has been rarely reported because of vulvar cancer.
CASE: A 65-year-old woman performed modified radical vulvectomy and bilateral lymph node dissection because of vulvar cancer was referred to our clinic with fatigue and somnolence 4 months after her operation. Calcium level was 15.9 mg/dL. There was no bone metastasis, and hypercalcemia was thought as paraneoplastic syndrome because of distant recurrence of the primary vulvar cancer.
DISCUSSION: Vulvar cancer and hypercalcemia can be seen together very rarely. However, recurrence should be kept in mind in patients with symptoms and signs of hypercalcemia.
