Аннотация
OBJECTIVE: The aim of the paper was to evaluate a link between two heroin seizures using a descriptive method.
METHODS: The system involved the derivation and gas chromatographic separation of samples followed by a fully automatic data analysis and transfer to a database. Comparisons used the square cosine function between two chromatograms assimilated to vectors.
RESULTS: The method showed good discriminatory capabilities. The probability of false positives was extremely slight.
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, this method proved to be efficient and reliable, which appeared suitable for estimating the links between illicit heroin samples.
