Аннотация
Doctors should deliver optimal care to patients, i.e. care in which it is the well-being of the person rather than the disease that is the focus. The present financial management structure together with the domination of guidelines and the increase in defensive medicine pushes doctors to deliver maximal rather than optimal care, resulting in overdiagnosis and overtreatment. In order to provide optimal care doctors have to act daringly.
