Аннотация
Corynebacterium striatum, a non-diphtherial Gram-positive bacillus traditionally considered a skin commensal, is increasingly recognised as an opportunistic pathogen in device-associated infections. We report a polymicrobial prosthetic joint infection in a 73-year-old woman with prior bilateral total knee replacement. C. striatum was repeatedly isolated from synovial fluid and deep tissue samples with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and identified by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. The isolate was susceptible to glycopeptides and linezolid. The patient received intravenous teicoplanin and revision surgery, highlighting the clinical significance of repeated isolation from deep specimens.
