Аннотация

PURPOSE: To summarize ophthalmologists' perspective toward, and experience with, telemedicine ROP (tele-ROP) care.

METHODS

A questionnaire was created and distributed electronically.

RESULTS

Survey results revealed that only 20% of 226 respondents perform tele-ROP care, whereas 73% of respondents provided in-person ROP care. The most common challenges reported with tele-ROP care were poor image quality and difficulty interpreting photographs. Most respondents who provided tele-ROP care had a contract for services. Only 40% were satisfied with their tele-ROP care reimbursement.

CONCLUSIONS

A minority of survey respondents (n = 45 [20%]) offer tele-ROP care. Respondents who provide tele-ROP care reported poor image quality and difficulty interpreting photographs were the most common challenges with tele-ROP care.
