AIM OF THE STUDY: The aim was to evaluate a modular competence-oriented psychotherapeutic treatment concept (MKP) that was implemented in 2022 at a psychiatric day-care clinic (TK MKP). Its clinical outcomes were compared with those of a non-modular day-care clinic (TK NMP).
METHOD: Routine data from 377 patients from 2022 to 2024 were analyzed retrospectively. Inclusion criteria were a diagnosis from the depressive symptom spectrum and a treatment duration of at least 10 days. Outcome was the patients' self-assessment in the BDI-II.
RESULTS: In both day-care clinics, depressive symptoms decreased significantly in each of the three cohorts. While the reduction was comparable in 2022, TK MKP showed an advantage in 2023 (d=1,64 vs. d=1,39) and 2024 (d=1,45 vs. d=0,89).
CONCLUSION: Overall, TK MKP showed very good clinical outcomes and proved to be at least as effective as the non-modular treatment as usual (TAU).
