Diabetes technology (DT) is a major pillar of modern diabetes therapy that enables many people with diabetes (PwD) to achieve optimal glucose control. Diabetes technology is also advancing at a high speed, which brings new challenges. In addition, the number of PwD continues to rise, while the number of health care professionals is declining. The use of DT requires a lot of specialized knowledge, including the handling and troubleshooting of various technological systems. This means that a considerable amount of effort is required to stay up to date with all relevant products. Additional training of certified diabetes specialists and diabetes counselors to become "diabetes technologists" can be an answer to this job description.
