INTRODUCTION: The intricate biological process of wound healing encompasses several cellular activities, including proliferation, migration, angiogenesis, and immunological responses. Central to these actions are protein receptors that facilitate cell signaling pathways essential for tissue repair. Various receptor types such as integrins, toll-like receptors (TLRs), G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), and RIPK3 govern these functions. This research aims to evaluate the current technology for measuring and modifying receptors, clarify the functions of different protein receptors in the wound healing cascade, and investigate theranostic strategies that utilize receptor signaling to improve wound healing and reduce complications.
METHODS: The investigators are reviewing receptors linked to wound healing. These receptors have been used for investigation, in vitro and in vivo modeling, and scientific developments for the identification and exploration of potential targets. To comprehend and control how receptors work through tissue repair, the present attempt uses crucial pharmacological inhibitors, ECM-based scaffolds, and receptor-targeted treatments.
RESULTS: Results have demonstrated the involvement of specific receptors, including NGF receptors, 5-HT1A receptors, RTKs, GPCRs, and RIPK3, in the process of wound healing. The phenomenon under consideration manifests in a variety of physiological processes, including the proliferation of blood vessels, the multiplication of cells, the movement of cells, and the modulation of the immune system. One approach involves the utilization of pharmaceutical agents that bind to the receptors.
DISCUSSION: An alternative approach involves the utilization of ECM scaffolds for the design of receptor inhibitors such as necrostatin-1 to target RIPK3. The process of developing pharmaceuticals derived from this research that can genuinely benefit human health is a challenging endeavor.
CONCLUSION: These cells play a crucial role in facilitating proper wound healing. It is imperative to acquire a more profound understanding of the mechanisms underlying the function of protein receptors. This fundamental knowledge is essential for the development of effective tools that can measure and regulate these receptors. It is imperative to continue our research on protein receptors to elucidate the underlying mechanisms that result in their dysfunction. It is imperative to ensure the proper utilization of these novel pharmaceuticals in medical facilities to address both acute and chronic wound conditions.
