Аннотация
BACKGROUND: New minimally invasive techniques have been developed for cardiac abnormalities.
CASE SUMMARY: We report a successful case of combining transcatheter edge-to-edge repair and convergent procedures to treat a 63-year-old woman who presented with functional mitral regurgitation, persistent atrial fibrillation, and tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy with an ejection fraction of 35%.
DISCUSSION: This case showcases the combined use of 2 relatively new, minimally invasive procedures. As experience with these procedures grows, they can be used for more unusual or extreme presentations.
TAKE-HOME MESSAGE: Combined minimally invasive therapies can successfully treat complex cardiac conditions such as tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy with functional mitral regurgitation, potentially avoiding open-heart surgery.
