Аннотация

Existing research has established building age as a dominant urban factor influencing mosquito incidence in Singapore, which presents a problem for vector-borne diseases like Dengue. However, in-depth research understanding this relationship has yet to be conducted. This paper explores the correlation between detailed building design features and female Aedes Aegypti mosquito counts, applied to a novel dataset of 400 high-rise residential buildings representing a nationally representative sample. Based on linear regression results, a range of specific building features was found to be statistically significant in influencing mosquito counts. The neural network model also predicts mounting air-cons on ledges potentially decreases mean weekly average mosquitos by 29% and installing air-conditioning trays leads to a 33% increase.
