Аннотация

This cross-sectional study analyzed 131,207 pregnancies in Kaiser Permanente Northern California (2021-2023) universally screened for prenatal blunt use at entry to prenatal care. Overall, 1.1% reported prenatal blunt use. Blunt use was more prevalent among younger individuals (<18 years: aPR=5.29, 95%CI: 3.09-9.06; 18-26 years: aPR=6.96, 95%CI: 5.74-8.45, and 27-34 years: aPR=2.26;95%CI:1.87-2.74), Black (aPR=7.01, 95%CI: 6.00-8.19) and Hispanic individuals (aPR=1.28, 95%CI: 1.09-1.51) vs. White individuals, and those with higher neighborhood deprivation (Q2: aPR=1.65, 95%CI:1.23-2.21; Q3: aPR=2.08, 95%CI:1.56-2.76; Q4: aPR=2.84, 95%CI:2.13-3.78 vs. Q1). Those living in cities (aPR=1.88, 95%CI:1.43-2.46) or suburban (aPR=1.93, 95%CI:1.47-2.53) vs. rural areas were also more likely to use blunts. Findings underscore sociodemographic disparities in prenatal blunt use and highlight the need for targeted, culturally tailored education and interventions.
