Application of crystal violet in pre-staining of gastrointestinal endoscopy biopsy tissues.

To investigate the effect of crystal violet in pre-staining gastrointestinal endoscopy biopsy tissues. A total of 120 gastrointestinal endoscopy biopsy tissues were selected and pre-stained with eosin, hematoxylin, and crystal violet dyes, respectively (tissues were pre-stained before fixation). After routine dehydration, their gross visual discernibility, embedding and sectioning time, section integrity rate, and H&E and immunohistochemical staining effects were compared. After pre-staining with crystal violet dye, the tissues showed high gross visual discernibility, short embedding and sectioning times, and high sectioning integrity, superior to the other two dyes. There was no significant difference in H&E and immunohistochemical staining effects among the three groups. Crystal violet has a good pre-staining effect on gastrointestinal endoscopy biopsy tissues, which can improve the efficiency and quality of slide preparation and is worthy of promotion.
