Аннотация

Rapid tranquillisation (RT) is widely used in adult mental health inpatient settings but poses risks, including trauma and health inequalities. This study compares findings from the Council of Europe anti-torture Committee (CPT) reports on RT use in Denmark in 2019 and 2024. The 2024 report highlights improved data availability, a stronger focus on reduction efforts and concerns about police involvement, contrasting with the 2019 report's limited data and recommendations for enhanced record-keeping. Despite progress, both reports emphasise the need to minimise RT, with calls for cultural and individual appropriate care to address its disproportionate use among ethnic minorities.
